Artichoke |
|
Artichoke Artichoke is one of the most important plants. We use the leaves of the globe artichoke medically. They are very bitter and we use them as a fresh juice. It is available in Canada, imported from Germany. This is again a very safe plant for anyone to use. It actually helps to restore hepatocytes. If there has been some liver damage, this plant will help you tremendously. It is a choleretic and increases the flow of bile through the liver. When someone is suffering from terminal cancer and the liver has been affected, artichoke will eliminate the pain in the liver. It won't eliminate the cancer at that point, but it will certainly eliminate a lot of the suffering. It is also very effective in treating skin problems. Many people who come to me have been to see many different dermatologists. They all told them they had psoriasis or acne or eczema and gave them something to suppress it, usually a steroid cream. The skin problem usually comes back again and they are not very happy. When they go to see a herbalist, the herbalist immediately thinks of the liver. The liver and the skin are both organs of elimination. If the pressure is taken off the skin by helping the liver to function properly, the skin is definitely going to improve. Artichoke has shown significant protective effects against toxicity. Investigations are still being conducted on artichoke's beneficial pharmacological effects on liver and gallbladder functions—the most recently documented in 2002—which noted that the leaf extract actually reversed membrane damage done by harmful chemicals in liver cells and, in doing so, enhanced bile production Traditional medicine has long used artichoke extracts as a hepatoprotectant, and several bioactives in artichoke extract have been identified, including chlorogenic acid, cynarin, caffeic acid, and luteolin.(Perez-Garcia et al, 2000; Llorach et al., 2002) Consumption of encapsulated artichoke extract has been shown to result in absorption of these bioactives in humans, resulting in the production of beneficial metabolites such as ferulic acid.(Rechner et al 2001) Ferulic acid, chlorogenic acid and cynarin provide strong antioxidant protection, which may account for some of their health-promoting activities. Moreover, in cultured liver cells, artichoke extract not only provided antioxidant protection from a toxic chemically-induced insult, but also showed diminished loss of cellular glutathione reserves.(Gebhardt, 1997)

Cancer
cells hide after Chemotherapy and Radiation After the initial doses of radiation and/or chemotherapy, cancer cells start hiding. " They develop a slime coating, and they become like Stealth bombers, and they can hide from future doses of radiation and chemotherapy. This is why repeated dose of radiation and chemotherapy become less effective".Dr. John Maras, Nu-Gen Educational Library. " The way to get rid of this "slime coating" is to use large doses of plant and animal enzymes- especially bromelain and pancreatin. This allows an 'access point' for the immune system to attack the cancer cells".....Dr. John Maras, Nu-Gen Educational Library |
What doctors say about Chemo Therapy ?
"The world is a dangerous
place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of
the people who don't do anything about it." Albert Einstein A Sad day for Alternative healing |
